Review: Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 32 Light Beige

Hey lovelies! I've been so bad at posting regular reviews, but I've just felt awfully uninspired lately with everything that's been happening and changing around here; and since blogging is something I do for my enjoyment, I simply don't blog when I'm not feeling it. But anyway, I'm back and today I've got a review of the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream for you! This is the second CC cream I'll be reviewing; the first was the Banila Co It Radiant CC cream that I reviewed almost exactly a year ago, but as you will soon read, these two products differ like night and day. For the record, CC stands for Colour Correct or Colour Control and as such CC creams can be used both as a makeup base or as a foundation depending on whether they provide any coverage or not. I bought mine at Clicks for around ZAR140 for 30ml, which is pretty affordable. There are four shades to choose from, sadly none of which are suited to darker/non-Caucasian skin tones. I got shade 32 Light Beige but I'm thinking 31 Ivory might be better for the upcoming winter months, although I must note that all the shades tend to cater to warmer skin tones, so if you have pink undertones you might battle to find a shade that works for you.  My skin is neutral, which means I have both warm and cool tones and I only just mange to make this work on me.

What it promises:
"The next generation of foundation! Combining:
THE COLOUR CORRECTION OF A FOUNDATION:

. APRICOT pigments > anti-fatigue
. GREEN pigments > anti-redness
. WHITE pigments > anti-dark spots
+ THE SKINCARE ACTION OF A CREAM:
24 hr hydration
SPF 15

Result: luminous complexion & flawless skin in one step."

 Packaging:
Plastic tube with a pointed nozzle, which is fine, except for the fact that product tends to run out of the nozzle and into the cap which, as you can imagine, causes quite a mess and, consequently, succeeds in disturbing my delicate sensibilities as I am a self-confessed clean freak.

Texture & Scent:
The texture is very light and runny which is typical in light to medium coverage products and it has a pleasant fruity-floral scent that lingers for a short while after application. It is quite opaque, so I'd say it falls more under foundation-type coverage rather than tinted moisturiser. I find that this product applies well with fingers, beauty sponges and foundation and stippling brushes.

My thoughts:
From the moment I tested this at the Bourjois stand I knew it was going to be one of my favourite foundation-type products. It feels light and breathable on my skin and has a lovely, natural finish that is neither too dewy nor matte, which makes it good for all skin types. I would however suggest that oily skin types use a powder to set this product as it might turn a bit shiny by the time midday strolls along. I think this is a particularly good product for ageing skin that tends to be on the dry side and an absolute gem for winter months. As far as the colour correction claims, it performs well and covers the redness on my cheeks and around my nose, but doesn't do anything whatsoever for pigmentation spots. The 24 hour hydration claims are also a bit over-the-top, but I won't nitpick too much as this CC cream really is deserving of all the praise it's been getting. Definitely recommended!
